Financial literacy
KA1 – Youth Exchange
06.12.2019 – 15.12.2019
On the 5th of December, brave young people from Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania decided to go in to the middle of the forest in Humpolec. Arriving with good vibes from the travel, at the first evening when we arrived we were just talking with each other. On this day, we didn’t have anything to do, besides waiting for the programme to start.
From the next day the sessions get started. The first session was memorable for us because we started to play a game, which helped to learn the names all of the participants.
We started every day by us doing something creative and fun to wake up the energy.
Everyday we had 4 sessions. This project made financial topics interesting with fun activities and energizing energizers and we really enjoyed it.
The first few days was about getting to know each other and to get comfortable around all the new people. We were mentally getting ready to spend the next few days together.
On day 3 we started to learn about the topic of this project- financial literacy. But improving our social skills was still in priority by doing all kinds of activities and trust exercises.
We learned the ins and outs of managing money and everything that could bring us income or make us loose money. We were introduced to new ways of spending the money that we have. We learned about the value of money, where does it come from and how to get the most out of it.
We were having open conversations about all the topics so everyone was involved and was able to share their ideas and opinions. The different cultures could tell each other how their countries are setting the prices, tips and tricks if someone is travelling over their borders and so on.
All in all, people had the chance to learn so many useful things in such a fun way that they will probably never forget it.
We made new friendships with the people from this countries. The project took ten days and we really enjoyed the time we spent here.
In this project were 12 young participants from each country + group leaders and facilitators.
It was a finanical literacy project thats’s why we learnt here a lot of very important things. For example, how to manage or make money better, to know some concepts. For example, what’s the inflation, borrow, investing etc. It was a good opportunity to learn English and some financial things. Thats’s why our skills were getting up better day by day. We learnt here new things about other cultures and it was really interesting for us.
We were hiking in the nature not so far from the hotel where we were. We were in Brno too, it is a city near to Humpolec. It was a really nice city and since we got some tasks from the facilitators that weren’t so difficult that’s why we had also free time left.
In the end we hope that we will see each other in the future, maybe in the next Erasmus+.
Thank’s for everyone! 🙂
